This team has now attended three Festivals – 2004 on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, 2006 at Colombo Sri Lanka and in 2008 at Queenstown, New Zealand.

Join a Team for the 2010 Harogate Festival

All you need to know

Festival Costs

There are three components of the costs for the Festival

1. Festival package – Our team will have accommodation in Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate, near the centre of the town

• Festival Package cost per person GBP859 per person twin share or double room
Single Supplement to be advised on request (note, package is set by the Golden Oldies Secretariat and is payable by all Festival participants)

Included in this cost are the following -

Seven nights accommodation at the team hotel
English Breakfast
Transfers to all games and Festival functions
Three days of cricket
Afternoon tea at the Cricket Grounds
Three Festival social functions - including food, drinks (wine & beer) and entertainment
Parade and Opening Ceremony
Festival Souvenir (item yet to be confirmed)
“Caught Short” Festival Newspaper (four issues); . . . . and more.

Festival Social Functions included in Festival Package

o Welcome Party – three hour function at Theakston Brewery in Masham following the Opening Ceremony
o The Great Golden Oldies Festival Picnic Day
o Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony – five hour function including 3-course meal, beer, wine and entertainment

2. Flights & Air Fares to UK
Best Airport for Harrogate is Manchester - many airlines fly there direct and you can avoid the congestion of Heathrow. Transport to Harrogate is not part of the Festival package but there are trains and buses, more details later.

Flights Australia/England - it is not planned to a group booking as averyone will have different travel plans. It is too early to get fares for August 2010 yet. Remember that Air New Zealand is the owner of the Festival and ask that we travel on Star Alliance Airlines where possible

3. Extras

Extra night accommodation for Saturday 7thAugust as we recommend team members arrive in Harrogate on the day prior to the commencement of the Festival Package

Team Uniform – Official Team Uniform for the Opening Ceremony plus Team playing clothes. We will probably include a light xxx jacket Cost to be confirmed

Contribution per person towards the cost of the team registration, which has been paid already by Kingsgrove Sports Events. Cost to be confirmed
