OCTOBER 2006 - Congrats go to a friend (one of Rob's best mates), Scott Horscroft on his recent success with The Sleepy Jackson and Phil Jamieson (of Grinspoon) latest musical releases. Scott produced both recordings at his studio Bigjesusburger Studios in Sydney. Such success has seen him at the helm of Silverchair's next offering to be released soon. Meanwhile on the homefront very occassional work continues on original material in preparation for some recording during next cricket off-season. A demo of a Song co-written by Rob and myself was recorded not long ago. Rough but not bad.

JULY 2006 - After demoing a few songs last off season (and losing them) we will start working on a few songs this month. This is one slow project but I will get there. I was pretty happy with what was coming out last year. One of the songs (The Tragic Child) is now my ring tone so not all was lost when Rob's computer crashed. Rob is currently playing in two bands so finding the time between is not always easy.

My good mate Rohit who is married to my Cousin Leanne and (he also works at Kingsgrove Sports) has just finished recording a Nepalese Rock Album.

Also went out to see iconic 80's band Split Enz. Great concert. Here's an excerpt

Noel Going Off

June 4th 2005 - Well finally a start has been made. Teamed up with Rob from the Bravados today and started work on "The Great Deep Blue", a song I wrote almost 10 years ago. Laid down a rough accoustic track and recorded several vocal tracks over it. Then added some nice slide guitar hooks into it. Left it at that. Lets see what Rob adds to it before we meet again.

OLD NEWS

LAST YEARS MUSIC NEWS

Local bands will be supported, more on that later. CD's will be better digested and finally plans have started on recording a CD of my own material hopefully combining the talents of as many of my friends as possible. So if this interests you and you think you can play some part in the creative direction of this pending project, let me know. We already have some great and talented friends lined up for the following contributions. Musicians - more needed Photographers Sleeve Contributor Graphic Arts Contributor - more needed etc

Keep an eye out in the music section of this site for more information on this project as time progresses forth. For now, the main focus is raising enough coin to get it off the ground.

So what's happening in my little music world at the moment. Well there's some good music out there to report on including two great Sydney bands building up a stealthy following via their great live performances. Bob Sledge are a Hard Rocking 4 pc local band whom I saw live for the first time a few years back since then they have released some great recordings and I'm really looking forward to catching up with them as much as possible. You can also check out their great website on my music page. Next gigs : Thursday 27th May - CAT'N'FIDDLE HOTEL Balmain, Sydney Sunday 30th May - VIC ON THE PARK Enmore, Sydney + R.O.A.D.S. (Remnants Of A Dead Star - Ex Thumlock) + support

A great new Sydney fusion band blazing a funky trail at the moment is Cropper, who also have a few spin off bands in turn including The Bravadoes. I was lucky enough to catch Cropper at "The Lansdowne" the other night. Now ladies and badeggs, here's an entertaining band so if you get the chance go see them, your booty will get a good work out, it needs it! They have a record launch planned for July at "The Metro" sharing the night with a surprise Punk act. Check out Cropper's great guitarist Rob, top guy. Was lucky enough to spend Easter playing Beatles songs with him at Batemans Bay. The girls said they were Beatled out. Is that possible? ....no, didn't think so. Anyway for more on Cropper go to - http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/unearthed/bands/6559.htm
