Welcome to my Genealogy Webpage

This is my opportunity to share the unique journey I’ve experienced since 2000. I became curious about my Ancestry, a topic that my family and I seemed to know very little about. Quite a shame when you consider how important FAMILY is. I knew of 6 surnames that were direct descendants and I barely made it back into the 1800’s. As always the journey is never ending. Currently my focus remains on Solomons, Cooke, Goodchild and Kellar surnames and unlocking a few family mysteries such as the the name of my Great, great, great Grandfather Cooke who was reputed to have arrived in Ceylon from England in the famous Royal Engineers. That would perhaps allow me to go back further generations in England. Similiarly I would love to learn about my Irish heritage via my Great, great, great grandfather John Thomas Goodchild who also arrived with the British. There is also the tragic death of my Great Grandfather William Henry Solomons who met his fate in a train accident back in 1942. What then became of his wife, Miriam Kellar. Where are they both buried ? They are just some of the mysteries.
