I got offered a game by a mate of a mate that I was staying with and spent all day at slip watching good even bounce and hard working bowlers sweat it out in 35 degree heat, until the oppo were dismissed with about 5 overs left to play… asked to open the batting I took guard for the first ball which passed with good carry through to the keeper… the second ball however pitched halfway down and to my horror the ball rolled and hit me on the foot… I didn’t even wait for the decision…! Not a great moment really but I can laugh about it now…
