The Kingsport Revolution Rolls On at The Bulldogs and Speedblitz Blues
ANZ stadium today played host to an unlikely game of cricket. Usually used by the Bulldogs as their Rugby League Headquarters, the guys took advantage of the drop in pitch used by the RTA Sppedblitz Blues for the Big Bash Twenty 20 tournament. For a few years now the Bulldogs have played an intra squad and staff style game with an interesting mix of talent on exhibition.
Kingsgrove Sports Centre has supported the game for a couple of years by way of use of our cricket equipment as well as opening up our nets to any of the players who wish to obtain a little extra practise. Players such as Captain, Andrew Ryan, Luke Patten, Michael Hodgson, new recruits Steve Turner and Dene Halatau as well as retired legends Hazem El Mazri and Tony Grimaldi have all visited the shop in recent times.
Luke Patten and Steve Turner impressed with the bat with both players showing a nice mixture of strength and timing whilst Andrew Ryan and Tony Grimaldi seemed to make the ball talk bowling to some of their team mates. Classic catches were taken by Ben Barba and Jim Dymock and of course Legend Terry Lamb kept everyone entertained. However, what stood out most was the atmosphere at the place and if this is anything to go by the Bulldogs will continue to be a force this season. Unfortunately they won’t be able to take their
